For almost a year I was dealing with swelling and discoloration in my right hand.
I ignored the problem until the pain got so severe that I could barely write. After
running several tests the doctors informed me that I had severe tendon damage in my
right thumb. So for months I went through various treatments including wearing a thumb
splint and taking part in physical therapy. Through all of that it seemed to me that my
hand was getting worse. At my next doctor visit, my thoughts were confirmed. As soon as
the doctor looked at my hand he said I needed cortisone shots immediately because the
swelling was so severe and I was in danger of the tendon separating completely. So I
went through that pain and still didn't get any better. Finally the doctor said surgery
was unavoidable.
As I was riding home with a close friend I was telling her about my up
coming surgery she suggested the Healing Rooms of Sioux Falls, which she is a part of.
I agreed because I felt it could not hurt to try. She asked if she could pray for me before
I got out of the car. She did and I saw the swelling in my hand going down .The
discoloration disappeared! It was an amazing experience. I felt very warm to the
touch in my thumb and up my arm. It was as though God was there healing me. I then
went to the healing rooms to receive more prayer and again the same feeling of warmth
was present up into my face this time as well the feeling of cold right in the thumb
almost like the feeling of a cortisone shot. The discoloration was gone and also the
swelling and pain.
Before I got too excited about this I went in to the doctor to see
if my hand was truly getting better. After a through examination my doctor confirmed that
my hand really was better and he was definitely confused. He said that surgery was the
only option left and that he didn't seem able to grasp how this had happened without surgery.
Even with sugary he was not to optimistic about the outcome. It has been hard to believe all of
this has happened. But I know God has healed my hand because I can write this letter without
any pain at all. It has been almost two months now since being prayed for and I still have
no pain and I thank God every day for His healing me.
