Mission Statement
|
Words & Works Ministries trains and equips the body of Christ to
live in such a way as to draw a hurting world to the words, works and
ways of Jesus. We believe that every Christian is called to minister
through the words of Jesus and through the works of Jesus. We have a
passion to see God's people participate in the healing ministry of
Jesus. We believe this ministry is not for an elite few but for every
believer.

History
|
Words & Works Ministries grew out of the Vineyard Christian
Fellowship of Sioux Falls under the leadership of Pastor Derk
Stevenson. Derk sensed the Lord calling him aside to devote his time
exclusively to the area of healing ministry and teaching others how to
operate in the gifts of the Spirit on a daily basis.
Derk has been faithfully serving the body of Christ
in various ministries for more than 20 years. He began as a youth
pastor in a Seattle-area Lutheran church and in 1985 he attended the
International Lutheran Conference on the Holy Spirit in Minneapolis
where God impacted him in a profound way. This conference marked Derk's
introduction to the ministry of John Wimber, founder and leader of the
association of Vineyard Churches. Eventually, Derk planted the Vineyard
Christian Fellowship of Sioux Falls. After seven years as pastor, he
responded to the call for which the Father had been preparing him-a
full-time teaching and healing ministry. Since 2001, Derk has given his
full attention to developing Words & Works Ministries.
Derk and Priscilla have been married for 29 years. They
have four children, a son-in-law, and a grandson,
they reside in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Derk and
Priscilla are members of the Charter Members of the International
Fellowship of Ministries (I.F.M.) and are members of (IAHM)
International Association of Healing
Ministries. These associations
provide fellowship, accountability, credibility, and worldwide
networking-all critical elements for any itinerate ministry
today. |
