I am grateful for this opportunity to send a word of recommendation for Derk and Priscilla Stevenson and their Words and Works Ministry. I pastor a new church plant outside of Olympia Washington. We recently had the Stevenson’s share with our congregation over a long weekend with great benefit.

With a new church there is a great challenge to establishing the right DNA for future growth. Derk and Pricilla were invaluable in teaching and modeling the type of personal and powerful ministry showcased in the New Testament. This is what we want, to minister like Jesus did. Their very personable and unassuming style of ministry was an easy fit for our folks. They both have a disarming genuineness that attracts. They are very natural and authentic, not only in their ministry, but in their personal lives as well. This I like.

All in all, we had a great time. We learned many principles pertaining to the Kingdom of God, and the kind of authority and ministry Jesus intends us to have. We not only learned of these things, but we also saw the Holy Spirit move powerfully in our midst. Most of the people in my church come from non-charismatic and non-pentecostal backgrounds. They, therefore have little or no preconceived idea of how these things happen. In other words, we had a party. People were being healed, relationships were being reconciled, and Jesus was doing his work right in front of us all. And most of all, doors of faith and expectation were being opened wide.
